About Owner

Hey everyone my name is Brandan, i’m the owner of Fluxpoint Development and i enjoy creating fun projects for everyone to use and enjoy.

I have been working with Discord and the Discord API since 2016 and it has taught me a lot about Discord bots, development and software.

How i got into coding

I first started coding at around the age of 13 or 14 when i was in secondary school/highschool, i learned how to code simple apps for my IT lessons using Visual Studio in the programming language visual basic. At the time i was already passionate about computers and IT so learning to code for the first time was pretty awesome. It showed me how complex and time consuming it could be to create intresting stuff and my first apps were a calculator and hangman game which was displayed using windows forms.

College

I started to learn a lot more about coding and was able to create intresting apps such as the one here and taught myself in my free time.

This was a small portable app that you could run from a usb stick and i was able to use it on any computer. The main purpose of it was to be a quick launch pad of different websites and apps that i was using throughout college and i was able to open/close it using a keyboard hotkey like alt + w

Skills

My main passion and hobby has always been computers and i have been learning a lot of new skills over the past few years especially in college where i studied IT system support and games development which was pretty intresting to learn as i used all sorts of programs like Unity, Photoshop, Maya autodesk to model and play around with development and to create stuff while also enjoying myself with the many friends i met.

My main programming language that i use today is C# which has a lot of other related development work such as wpf, asp.net and also asp.net blazor which i recently started using to create websites which is the most complex and time consoming project i have worked on.

Discord

I first started using Discord on the 9th of June 2016, at the time Discord was just still starting and everything was pretty basic and square looking unlike today which is more modern and round.

I joined a few servers to check out different communities and the one that struck my intrest was Discord Bots a development community for people that love to create Discord bots which was a pretty intresting community.

Discord Bots

I first started learning how to code bots in december and at the time Discord bots were very basic but they were extremly useful in helping lots of people from automation of tasks such as notifications and easy moderation of servers while you were gone or busy.

At the time Discord Bots and Carbonitex were the only botlists around but it was a very welcoming and popular place.

My first actual bot

PixelBot was the first legit bot i actually made with features and commands that people could use.

It was meant to be used by gamers with a few commands for youtube stats/notifications, some minecraft commands such as server ping and player skins and easy to use utility and mod commands like user stats/ban.

Although the bot is no longer on Discord anymore it was very useful and intresting to learn about how to code a Discord bot and reading the docs to teach myself about all the different features and functions that you could do with it.

Most of these features from PixelBot have already been split up into 2 different bots which are available today Waifu bot and Minecraft bot.

Fluxpoint Development

As of the 12th of september 2019 all of my projects and services are under one brand name now named Fluxpoint Development this is to help users find and learn about us while also being under a recogizable brand to unify all of my stuff especially with other development that is not Discord bots.
