Major rewrite - 2020
Welcome to the new and improved Starboat with many major changes for the bot internally and for starboard messages.
We have updated the bot with a better way to process messages and embeds with support for message jump links and allowed mentions so the bot does not mention.
Updated look
We have updated the look of starboard messages for better format and functionality with support for any images/gifs/videos you star.
Here is a preview of the old and new look of starboard messages, you can see that we have added a Jump link that allows you to scroll to the context of the message in chat.
We also have a mention of the message author but this will not ping you and the title willl show your current nickname/username now.
Privacy
We have also updated the privacy of the bot so that no message content is stored on our servers, we will only store message/channel/user ids and the username/discrim/nickname of the message author.

Avatars
In the old version of Starboat avatars would sometimes have missing avatar images, this happens if the user changes his avatar and the old one becomes invalid.
Starting with this update all author avatars are stored on the messages so that they do not expire and will always show the correct avatar at the time it was starred.
Message support
Starboard will attempt to support most content from other services like Imgur, Tenor gifs, Gfycat, YouTube, Spotify, Twitter, Twitch (Clips too) including support for extra messages below.
Extra messages
Starboat now has support for extra starboard messages, any content such as YouTube video links, Spotify links or music files will also be added to your starboard channel as an extra message with the embeded content so you can view/listen to it whenever you want.
Embed messages
The old version of Starboat had some issues with embeds being stared and did not support the latest functionality of Discord such as system messages.
We have now updated the support for embeds to include system messages such as User joined, Message pinned and User boosted server.
You can now star these messages and they will be tagged as by System instead of a user mention. This will also include a tag for by Webhook so you can tell if a message was posted by a bot webhook as a fake author.
Donators and custom boards
This feature is not available atm
Donators will have access to create 2 custom board slots alongside starboard, this means you can create your own boards with a custom name and emoji.
This could be a 📌pin board channel for useful messages when you add a pin reaction or maybe a 💩shit board channel for bad memes :D
Custom boards will also have seperate settings from starboard so that you can limit the custom boards with roles or have a different minium reaction count for the message to be posted.
